The Ferrari 458 Speciale is the last naturally aspirated V8 Ferrari ever produced. Building on a legendary mid-engined V8 lineage that began with the 308 in 1975 and continued through the 360 and F430, the 458 Speciale refines this classic Ferrari formula by incorporating extensive use of carbon fibre, advanced aerodynamics, and most notably, a significant increase in power.
At its heart is a dry-sump 4.5-litre naturally aspirated V8, which sends 597hp to the rear wheels through a seven-speed F1 dual-clutch automatic transmission. It can sprint from a standstill to 60mph in 3.0 seconds, before reaching a top speed of 202mph.
The Speciale features a lightweight design and active aerodynamics developed by the Ferrari Styling Centre in collaboration with Pininfarina. Flaps at the front and rear automatically adjust to provide maximum downforce during cornering and minimal drag for straight-line speed.
Stopping power comes from a LaFerrari-derived Brembo carbon-ceramic braking system, positioned behind 20-inch forged alloy wheels, which weigh around 12kg less than those fitted to the 458 Spider.
It is equipped with magnetorheological suspension control, along with a comprehensive suite of electronic systems, including Stability Control (ESC), F1 Traction Control (F1-Trac), the third-generation Electronic Differential (E-Diff 3), and Side Slip Angle Control (SSC).
The cabin boasts extensive use of lightweight carbon fibre, including the steering wheel with LED shift lights, dashboard, central console, and door panels. It is also fitted with carbon fibre-shelled Sabelt racing seats, trimmed in a combination of Alcantara and breathable 3D fabric. Optional extras included a front axle lift system, the RadioNavi system with Bluetooth, front and rear parking sensors, and a rear-view camera.
