The Porsche 911 (997.2) GT3 RS was introduced in 2010 and was Porsche’s second GT3 model to receive Renn Sport treatment.
Receiving an additional 15hp over the standard 997.2 GT3 due to its new 3.8-litre flat-6 engine, as well as benefitting from a shorter final drive and a taller 6th gear alongside weight savings throughout, this RS model took Porsche’s historic recipe of less is more and quickly became known as one of the most capable drivers cars on the market. Still to this day, this generation of GT3 RS is cemented as one of the greats out of Stuttgart.
The 997.2 generation is one of the most prominent in the history of the 911 as it was the first RS to receive both a wider front and rear track, received an even more exclusive 4.0 variant, and notably marked the end of the manual-only, Mezger engined offering from the brand.
Just 1,600 997.2 GT3 RS models were produced between 2010-2011, with fewer than 200 believed to have been RHD, UK registered.
