2022 Land Rover Range Rover SV

Description

Key Points: SV Serenity Theme Interior, SV Intrepid Theme Exterior.

The fifth-generation (L460) Range Rover was revealed in October 2021 by the Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) Chief Creative Officer and the car's designer, Gerry McGovern, at the Royal Opera House in London.

Built on JLR's MLA-Flex platform shared with the Range Rover Sport, the car is the first from JLR to use an engine developed under the combustion and electrified powertrain partnership agreed between JLR and BMW in 2019, the twin-turbocharged mild-hybrid 4.4-litre BMW/JLR V8. The P530 variant delivers 523bhp and 553lb-ft of torque to all four wheels through an eight-speed automatic transmission with paddle shift and low-range capability. This output combined with Dynamic Launch technology enables the Range Rover to accelerate from 0-60mph in just 4.6 seconds and onwards to a top speed of 155mph.

For the first time on a Land Rover, the L460 offers four-wheel steering with a turning circle of 10.95 m, or 11.54 m for the long-wheelbase model. The L460 can also wade through water up to 35.4-inches (90 cm) deep.

Independent air suspension combines air spring volumes with twin-valve monotube dampers, which are managed by the "Adaptive Dynamics" system. The air suspension also adds variable ride height. The Range Rover features the "iAWD" (Intelligent All-Wheel Drive) system, which is controlled by Intelligent Driveline Dynamics (IDD). The system enhances efficiency by disconnecting drive at the front axle at speeds between 22 and 99 mph, which reduces drag losses by 30%.

Interior equipment includes a 13.1-inch touchscreen featuring the Pivi Pro infotainment system with navigation, as well as a DAB radio, wireless device charging, and a 13.7-inch dashboard display.

The Range Rover can be specified with an SV package from the marque’s Special Vehicle Operations department, allowing greater luxury and personalisation. At the heart of Range Rover SV’s tailored features is a choice of two optional curated interior and exterior design themes, SV Serenity and SV Intrepid, which comprise exclusive colour schemes and materials. This particular car was specified with the SV Serenity interior, featuring single-tone Ebony leather, white ceramic inserts (as well as a white ceramic badge on the rear end), and pale wood accents on the door cards and centre console.
