Revealed in April 2024, the re-styled SE variant of the Lamborghini Urus adopts a new plug-in hybrid powertrain. Paired with the existing 4.0-litre, 611bhp/590lb-ft twin-turbocharged V8 is a 141kW electric motor mounted on the rear axle, which adds the equivalent of 189bhp and 356lb-ft, for a combined output of 789bhp and 700lb-ft of torque. Significantly more powerful than the Urus Performante, the SE can sprint from 0-62mph in 3.4 seconds, before hitting a top speed of 194mph.
Fed by a 25.9kWh lithium-ion battery positioned in the under-floor boot compartment, the Urus has a claimed electric range of 37 miles, and can reach speeds of up to 84mph under battery power alone. More frugal than its predecessors, it boasts a combined fuel economy figure of 135.8 mpg (WLTP).
The new PHEV powertrain is the model’s main attraction, though it also features a more conventional reprofiled bonnet, revised front and rear lights, an updated infotainment system, a fresh alloy wheel design and various changes to the cooling apertures, resulting in a 30% increase in airflow to the mechanical components.
