2023 Audi R8 V10 Performance Quattro

Description

Key Points: Exterior Carbon Pack, 20" Double Spoke Dynamic Style Wheels, RS Ceramic Brakes

The Type 4S Audi R8 is the second generation of the popular German sports car, introduced
at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show. Based on the Lamborghini Huracán, it shares the Italian
supercar’s Modular Sports System platform and potent V10 engine. The 4S R8’s body is lighter and stiffer than the first generation, due to the substitution of
several large aluminium shell components with carbon fibre. Extra electronics are
incorporated in the chassis to improve handling, while the ‘Virtual Cockpit’ first introduced in
the TT was also made available. The seven-speed S-Tronic transmission is standard, with
no manual transmission option, which delivers power to all four wheels via the rear-biased
Quattro all-wheel drive system and a passive limited-slip rear differential.

The four-wheel-drive ‘Quattro’ coupe was first released with two production variants, the 5.2
FSI, and the more powerful V10 Plus. The R8 received a mid-cycle facelift in October 2018,
whereby the base V10 was renamed the V10 Quattro, and V10 Plus was renamed the V10
Performance Quattro.

The V10 Performance Quattro’s output was increased by 10hp to a mighty 612hp. Other
mechanical changes included larger brakes and a new steering rack for a more direct
response, while the exterior was updated to feature new aerodynamic winglets and an
enlarged grille. Performance highlights include a 0–60 mph acceleration time of 3.1 seconds,
and a top speed of 205mph.
