2022 RUF SCR
Key Points: 1 of 70 RUF SCR's Worldwide, Chassis 02 - The First Customer Example, Front Axle Lift.
The RUF SCR is a rare and sought-after custom sports car, with only 70 examples produced for the 2022 model year. Built from scratch by RUF as a homage to the classic air-cooled 911, it features a bespoke carbon-fibre monocoque chassis with an integrated IRC lightweight steel roll cage and carbon-fibre bodywork, resulting in an impressive curb weight of just 1,250 kg.
Power comes from a 4.0-litre Mezger-derived alloy flat-six with intakes positioned under the rear side windows, delivering 510hp to the rear wheels through a six-speed ZF manual transmission. The SCR can accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in 3.4 seconds, before reaching a claimed top speed of 198 mph.
It features KW V5 coilover suspension, carbon-ceramic brakes, a variable sports exhaust and a front axle lift system, while design cues include a ‘whale tail’ spoiler, and a retro interior with carbon-fibre bucket seats and a period-look five-gauge instrument cluster.
Chassis number 02, this SCR was the first production example built, following the prototype tested by the motoring press. First registered in Germany in October 2022, it has covered approximately 11,000 km from new, with an inspection report claiming that around 4,900 of these kilometres were covered during the car’s testing process. It is understood to have been serviced by RUF in October 2023, before being sold at auction by its first private owner in July 2024.
Finished in Birch Green over a brown deerskin interior, it features body-coloured stitching including custom ‘RUF’ headrest embroidery, as well as leaf-pattern upholstery on the dashboard and door cards, and black 19-inch twin five-spoke centre-locking alloy wheels with body-coloured brake callipers.
