The McLaren 720S Spider combines the extraordinary performance of the 720S Coupe with the added appeal of open-air driving. Built around McLaren’s lightweight carbon fibre Monocage II-S architecture, the 720S Spider delivers supercar performance without compromising the sense of occasion that comes with a retractable hard-top.

At its heart is a 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 producing 710bhp and 770Nm of torque, driving the rear wheels through a seven-speed Seamless Shift Gearbox. With a 0-62mph time of just 2.9 seconds and a top speed of 212mph, the 720S Spider offers truly formidable performance, while its sophisticated suspension, hydraulic Proactive Chassis Control II and carbon fibre construction provide the agility and precision for which McLaren is renowned.

The electrically operated retractable hard-top can be opened or closed in just 11 seconds, even at speeds of up to 31mph, allowing the character of the twin-turbocharged V8 to become an even greater part of the driving experience. Despite its additional roof mechanism, the 720S Spider remains remarkably lightweight, weighing only around 49kg more than the Coupe.
