The Koenigsegg Agera is a mid-engined performance icon, named Hypercar of the Year in 2010 by Top Gear magazine. The Agera has a lightweight body made from carbon fibre and Kevlar, featuring a removable roof which can be stowed under the front boot lid. The chassis is also made out of carbon fibre, with an aluminium honeycomb structure that comes with integrated fuel tanks for optimal weight distribution and safety. The rear wing is electronically adjustable, and features both automatic and manual settings.

The Agera rides on 19-inch front and 20-inch rear centre-locking wheels. Other notable features include the trademark ‘dihedral-synchro-helix-actuation’ doors, a new traction control system and LED lighting.

Koenigsegg unveiled the Agera S model in 2013, targeting markets where E85 biofuel was unavailable. As a result, the ‘S’ does away with the Flex Fuel system found in the Agera R, but otherwise has all of the model’s features and functions, including revised aerodynamics and a re-tuned engine over the standard Agera. Furthermore, the Agera S was the first model to feature Koenigsegg’s ‘Hollow Space Carbon Fibre Aircore’ wheels, which weigh approximately 40% less than the equivalent forged alloy alternative. It is understood that only five examples of the Agera S were built.

Its power comes from a lightweight aluminium 5.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 with a carbon fibre inlet manifold, producing 1,016hp and 811lb-ft of torque, paired with the specially developed CIMA seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission with paddle shift. The result is a 0-62mph sprint time of just 2.8 seconds, and a top speed of 249mph.
